Double Celebrations for Swedish Game Awards Next Year

In February, the Swedish Game Awards will launch as a new event for the professional games industry. The student awards with the same name will remain and come back later in the year, maintaining the 20+ year tradition of highlighting new talent. Students across Sweden will get their moment to shine and show off their projects. 

This means in 2026, there will be an expanded celebration of the Swedish games industry. Double the celebration! The new Swedish Game Awards 2026 (Pro) takes place in Stockholm on February 18, celebrating commercially released games made in Sweden from 2025. Competition will be tough, as this is one of the best years ever for Swedish Video Games.

The new edition of SGA is made possible by a collaboration among some of Sweden’s most influential and internationally renowned game companies. Paradox Interactive, Arrowhead Game Studios, Fatshark AB, Epic Games, Embark Studios, and DICE have joined forces as Founding Partners, contributing funding, expertise and creative leadership to elevate Swedish Game Awards into a long-term national cultural institution.

We at Dataspelsbranschen will organise nominations, jury appointments, categories, etc, and the gala is produced together with Hermes Group, driving the overall event concept, creative direction and execution with deep expertise in premium event experiences, and NMBRS, leading the visual identity and graphic production to ensure a unified and world-class experience.

Time: 18.00–23.00. The gala program for physical guests runs until 23:00, followed by an optional afterparty for those who wish to continue the celebration.

Location: Berns, Berzelii Park – Stora Salongen, Stockholm

Live Broadcast: The gala will be streamed live, opening at 19:00, and anyone can sign up to follow the award show online, free of charge. More information about the broadcast, exact timings and how to join will be shared closer to the event.
