On Wednesday, February 18th, the new edition of the Swedish Game Awards 2026 took place – and what a gala it was!

At Berns, industry professionals, developers and enthusiasts gathered to celebrate and honour the past year’s games. The competition was tough, and the list of nominated games would have suited any global game awards ceremony, which likely made this the most competitive national game awards ceremony in the world.

In many ways, 2025 was the best year ever for Swedish-developed games.

The Swedish Game Awards were made possible through a historic collaboration between Arrowhead Game Studios, Avalanche Studios, DICE, Embark Studios, Epic Games, Fatshark, Hazelight and Paradox Interactive, who acted as founding partners to establish the Swedish Game Awards as a long-term national cultural institution.

The Swedish Game Awards were initiated by the Swedish Games Industry and produced by Hermes Group as Premium Event Supplier, with responsibility for the overall production, execution and guest experience. NMBRS was part of the organising team and was responsible for the visual identity and graphic design for the Swedish Game Awards.

During the evening, awards were presented in several categories, with the jury facing the tough task of selecting winners from among many strong finalists. Each nominated game represents years of hard work, passion and creativity.
